Theres probaly posts on here about this but really don't have the time to look for it lol. But going to get my wife a bow tomorow and she's not going to be pulling back very high poundage. Not sure the poundage yet but she'll be shooting the Hoyt Klash maybe around 40 lb draw. So what would be some good arrows for her to deer hunt with? Like certain spine? Certain make maybe better then others? Best grain bh for that arrow? I'm wanting her to have the best chance at harvesting a deer with her not having the strongest draw. Any advice would help!
What draw length? 400 could work if it's long enough. I would run a 125gr 2 blade fixed head for sure. 125gr to get the foc up, 2 blade for more penetration. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The bow I used to have before I upgraded maxed out at 40 pounds, I think I used a 350 spine with a wac'em broad. 30 inch draw. Did the trick until my father gave me his bow.
With out knowing the length of her arrows its hard to be completely accurate, but I'd be looking at a 500 spine for a 40lb draw, you can always optimize the spine by switching to a heavier 125gr head and adding FOC.....depending on arrow length she could even be shooting a 600 spine, but I always rather be over spined than under.
You're going to want a good weight on that because she needs to rely 100% on momentum. I would recommend 10grs per pound of draw minimum, a stiff spine and a 2 blade cut on contact head. More importantly, she will need to restrict her range and be accurate so practice practice practice. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Any 500 spine with a 100 grain broadhead. A Easton Axis 500 spine (8.1 gpi.) and Slick Trick Standard 100 grain broadhead (4 blade 1" cut) would be good. These would be good.....http://www.ebay.com/itm/172558656808?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
