My son has joined the shooting team at school. He's got to shoot skeet, .22 and archery. We got him a Bear Legit Maxx for Christmas. It came with a 4-pin sight that I have set at 10-15-20-25 yards. I believe he will actually shoot 5-10-5-20. DL is 27.5 and poundage is really low, though I don't know the exact amount. At 10 yards, he's pretty accurate. 15 has a little more variance, but not too bad. At 20 yards, he's consistently 8 inches above the target. I moved his 20 yard pin down and it maybe brought him down an inch, which means I'm going to run out of room for adjustment. So, 2 questions: 1. Did I move the pin down correctly? I know when you're getting the top pin dialed you in, you chase the arrow. With that dialed in, I assume from there you have to move the pins. 2. I noticed today that the arrows the gave him where 6.5mm 500 grain Eastons. That seems awfully heavy for a low draw weight and something that is going to be used for target archery right now. I did some internet reading and I believe it was saying the same thing - he should be shooting more along the lines of my 5mm 300 weight Axis. Am I reading this correctly? I assume they set his arrows up as if he was going to be going out and shooting game? 3. Lastly, he's complaining that his bow shoulder is getting really tired really quickly. I never ran into to that, so I don't know how to diagnose what's happening there. Any thoughts?
