hello iam new to this sight and new to bow hunting i purchased my first bow a 2011 bowmadness xs it is set at 271/2 draw at 55lbs.iam currently using cabelas carbon hunter 400 arrows and 100 grain field points.Iam looking at the g5 fixed broadheads and a glodtip or carbon express arrow.when i purchased the bow and had it setup at 55lbs it was moderate for me.now after shooting for awhile it is easy pull back.Should i have the poundage brought up?will i have to start over tuning wise with more poundage and new arrows? sorry if these are no branier questions.Iam new lol

I would only increase your draw weight if you wanted more kinetic energy. You don't NEED to increase it, but I just like having the most KE my bow is capable of. If you end up increasing your draw weight, I would re-tune your bow. Especially if you change arrows and whatnot, just nice to know your bow is still tuned after changing something.

    Hey sprayed,
I personally like the carbon express maxima hunters. I just seem to shoot them the best. But I buy the blank shafts and put the bowhunting.com quick fletch vanes on them. They fly like darts. I would increase my bow weight only to the point that I can still draw it as smooth as possible. You do not want to have any type of pause in your draw. As far as broadheads they all do the job they are meant to do if you put them in the right place. I use the rage 2 blade they seem to be more forgiving for the slightly misplaced shots. But if you hit hard bone with it it will bend. Shot as much as possible from all different positions wearing the type of clothes you will wear to hunt. Shoot in low light and bright sunny days too. Practice does not make perfect but it does build confidence in your shooting abilities.
Good luck and Welcome to your new home.
