Hey guys so i shoot the black eagle deep impacts they are cut at about 26 ish inches and the chart online says they weight 9.6 grains per inch plus my 100 grain tips and my knock which is about 8 grains and my inserts about 48 grains and someone said it should be around 415-420 and I dont have a grain scale currently but when i add the numbers up i come to about 30 grains short of that for the speed im getting is there any way to calculate how much my arrows weight without the scale?
Forgot to add your vanes. If you use blazers, add 6gr a piece. Your numbers plus vanes(just using blazers as an example) is right around 423gr Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There's also not really a magic number for arrow weight. I know some guys that shoot 500gr arrows and some that shoot around 380. The heavier one will carry greater momentum and give better penetration and the lighter one will give you more speed. My arrow weigh in at 409gr and they put a deer down just fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
