when choosing an arrow spine, do you guys rely on the charts provided by the arrow companies?
im trying to choose an arrow for my girlfriends bow
they will be 22 inches long, with 85 grain heads, and her draw weight is 52 pounds
the charts say to get a 600 spine shaft.

i have been recomended by a few people that 400 or 500 would be fine, should i stick with the 600 like the chart says?
im wanting a shaft that is around 6.5 grains per inch, in hopes to get a final arrow weight around 260-290 grains

the KE calculator said a 260 grain arrow is optimum for speed and KE

600 spine would be a little to weak if the draw weight is 52# IMO. My wife shoots on 45# and uses a 500 spine. She even used a 500 spine back when she was shooting 37# and has never had any issues.

I ignore the charts and use the OnTarget2 software when building my arrows.
