I just got back from an indoor range. First time shooting a compound bow (or anything for that matter), SPEECHLESS guys, absolutely speechless. I had bought myself a new Hoyt Pro Hawk last week that was recommended to me, I had it sized and all that jazz. My first target shot tonight was a deer decoy about 20m (19y) away. I know this is child's play to some of you experienced guys, but I was not only hitting the vitals 90% of the time, but smack dab in the middle of the heart. Nothing but pure smiles, I had a hard time controlling my excitement (best part, I had the whole range to myself). :D . I'm definitely hooked. I have to say though I give you guys/gals a great deal of respect and credit for being able to do this in an uncontrolled environment, you know; harsh winds to take into consideration for the shot, drawing quickly and quietly, swaying tree stands, scent control, patience.. this is something I can only one day hope to be prepared enough for.
Heres a pic of the Hoyt Pro Hawk bow I got. Came set up for me. axle to axle is 32" 27" Draw I believe is 50-60lb draw weight Arrows are Easton Full Metal Jackets. I'm really happy with my investment. I love it.
Hey thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I can't believe the amount of information I was able to obtain this forum. You guys are the best.
