I am considering an Octane Hostage Pro arrow rest, currently I have a whisker buscuit. I am also considering a G5 Rock bowsight. Anyone have any experience with either of these? Recommendations? Thanks!

I use to use the Hostage Pro, no complaints about it. If your bow is in tune and everything is centered then you'll just have the normal wear on the brushes. The only reason I switched was because I won a free NAP 360 Capture and wanted to give it a try. Can't help you with the sight.

Brushes wear out on the Hostage and I just think the construction is a bit sub par to be trustworthy.

The G5 Rock was mediocre but I think the adjustments are going to go bad on the sight pins with time and it (.010" pins) just wasn't very bright. For similar money I like the Copper John Mark 3 micro adjust much better.

I have a buddy who used the hostage pro and his brushes were always wearing out on him and changing his point of impact. I would recommend the NAP apache rest for a cheap, full containment hunting rest. I have no experience with the sight as well.

I've had the octane, and agree with Kodiak. I actually shoot a WB now, and it is far superior imo.

Are you having issues with your rest?

I had the Hostage Pro on my Assassin before I switched to a drop away.

I like the Hostage better than the Whisker Biscuit because there is less fletching contact(actually, pretty much no contact with the Hostage), while still giving you a full capture style rest.

No complaints at all, although, I was told that the bristles wear down after time (bottom one) and will need replacing because you'll eventually have a 'nock high' situation.

As far as accuracy goes, my bow was slapping shafts out to 60yards with the Hostage(had my 2nd 60yard robin hood with this rest).

I switched only because I'm a fan of the QAD Pro HD Drop.
