Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum. I am new to bow hunting (not necessarily new to compound bows, but its been awhile since I've shot one up until this week) and had a quick question. I am shooting a Bear Game Over with a 60 pound draw and a 28 inch draw length. My arrows are 27 inches (they might be 26 3/4). I don't have any problems with field points (knock on wood for that one), but I was wondering if I should be worried about the broad head possibly making contact with my hand upon release? I know that would be a nasty gouge, so I'm trying to figure this out now before an incident like that ruins my season. If this matters any, I'm shooting from a whisker biscuit rest. Thanks for any help in advance.

I'm going to make this a double question thread. I also noticed tonight that the serving that goes around the cam when the bow is drawn is starting to fray a little bit. Keep in mind I just bought this bow the other day NEW (but on clearance). Is this minor fraying something I should be worried about or should I just wax it and keep an eye on it as time goes on? Thanks.

Sorry for the low quality image, I took this with my iPhone. Thanks

I don't think that the BH will get your hand even with that shaft length. The W.B. rest is a full capture rest and if it gets down to your hand you have more serious things to worry about than getting cut! You should have the arrow centered up with the threaded Berger hole in the riser for rest mount. The older type overdraw rests were usally made of a prong type or a flipper/launcher type, which could let the arrow drop off at full draw or at release to get down on your hand/grip area. I used to shoot a 6" overdraw to increase speed! Insane, looking back I had that BH about 3" BEHIND my hand at full draw!
On the string serving issue, BEAR offers lifetime warranty on their bows, on ORIGINAL owners only on new bows, and string "WEAR" is not included in this, but, they do cover manufaturing problems on the string and I do belive that this would be covered. Did you just notice this or has it been there all along?
On some manufatures bows they serve the string in like that (your photo) to hold the strands together where they ride the lobe of the take-up. Not saying that this is the case, just that it may or may not be a problem. Have you dealer or a local proshop take a look at it in detail to check and see if a warranty condition is the case.

should be fine with the BH issue, and yes check the warranty on the string. If they will replace, do that if not and it's not frayed too bad try putting textite bow wax on it and working it in with your finger tips or even put slight heat to it, don't burn the string though, be careful!
