I am new to archery and am wondering what arrows should i get. I have a Parker ultra light. Its set for an 28.5 draw length and is set some were between 60-70Ibs. Im not planning to hunting anytime soon so im going to be using the 3d ranges in my area. Im also looking for a reasonable price.
I think you have your numbers mixed up a bit. 8.5 is way too short to be your draw length. If you meant 28.5 that is more likely. In order to find what arrows you first need to know that there are several factors to consider pertinent to weight, length, and flexibility before you even get into looking for a certain brand or quality. The most important is thing first is probably to find your arrow length, seeing as you know your draw weight. This is usually within 1-2" of your draw length but can vary bow to bow. I'm assuming you are going to be in the .340 spine range. Another factor that will influence things is the tip weight. I assume you will be shooting a 100 grain tip, as they are probably the most common. Check out this link and it will help you learn a little bit about what I'm saying: http://www.huntersfriend.com/carbon_arrows/hunting_arrows_selection_guide_chapter_3.htm
I meant 28.5. I wrote this really fast because it was during my lunch break. I dont want to buy a bow for my cat! Thanks for the info also.
