I shoot a guardian at 66lbs with a 29.5" draw. My arrow is 27.5" long, and are gold tip 5575's. I shoot a 100gr head with 2" blazers and wraps. Landons thread about KE led me to a site that cal. KE. I came in at over 77lbs. My arrow is just under 400gr...when given all this information does everything add up to 77 lbs of KE???

I need 2 things to calculate your KE. Arrow weight and speed. Here's the formula.

    (Speed x speed) x weight / 450240.

My first reaction to your 77 #'s is to think that number is a little high, unless your Gaurdian is shooting them pretty fast.

Sorry Mobow, I forgot. She chronos at 304, before I added the wraps. I used the Archery Headquarters link from Landon's thread to get the KE listed and I also thought it sounded high. The arrow is right at 400gr and is moving at 304. Thanks in advance.

I shoot 2 blade rage and have no issues with passthroughs, so maybe the number is close. I bought the bow from Matt (rick james) and she was VERY tuned when I got her.

Edit: We dropped it down from 70 to 66 and I have not been to the shop since, can you "guess" how many FPS that cost me and still get a good idea of the KE? That 304 was at 70lbs, not the 66 I currently shoot.

    I show you at approximately:

    arrow weight: 377gr
    arrow speed: 294fps
    FOC: 11.33%
    KE: 72.86

Your arrow spine shows very weak also.

If your numbers are all correct...

You are shooting around 296 fps @ 66#...

    Your KE would be 77.84#.

Thanks gentleman, would a 125gr head help with my spine issues. When I was looking at the charts last year when I set the bow up I was borderline between 2 choices of arrows. I have mentioned several times in the last few months that my bow IQ is horrible, when I comes to things such as this. My best friend always handled it, from setting up bows to building strings...now that he has been in afghan for the past couple years, I feel like a DA...and I don't like that. Any input is welcome and wanted.

I am sure I am right at 400gr...I will take an arrow to the shop tomorrow and weight it.

    125 would make it worse...

As long as they fly true, you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks Scott, I did a little reading in between replies and I just read where making the front end 125 would be a bad idea. I shoot alot, and scout alot... but i guess I need to spend alot more time in the "classroom" if you will. Thanks for the help guys!!!!! I was out shooting to 40 and a little beyond today and everything seems to be flying good.
