This is what my grouping looks like at 30yards. should it be better? imo i think its pretty bad! what do you think?
looks like user error if 1's way off from the other 3...try taking 5-10min breather, than shoot again...but at 30yds, those 3 near the center should be good enough for kill shots...
the thing is is that at 10 yards i scared of shooting a robinhood there so close. even 20y is a 1-2'' group. but at 30+ im not shooting tight groups. I did switch arrows up. i was using the cx piledrivers 350. not i shoot the 350 mayhems. to i need to paper tune? sorry if this is common sense stuff. Im new to this
Yes I learned after destroying many $15 arrows that don't shoot for the same bullseye. Try hitting the center of each black dot or each differnet design whatever it may be. In other words, 1 arrow to 1 spot you still get the same effect.
That one arrow looks like you torqued it off target, but don't worry it happens. Your group looks great to me!
It could always be better. Remember practice doesn't make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect.
Ive got 2 more sight pins coming in the mail. that'll allow me to shoot at 40 and 50. I just get so aggrivated watching TV and these pros are shooting the smallest target on the 3D target from like 40 yards and hitting it lol ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Yet I bet that you don't get upset about not being able to kick a 55 yard FG while watching football on TV. They are "pro's" for a reason. They all started somewhere too.
I think i may reduce my draw weight to 65# Think it will help? I can pull the 70# with no problems, but maybe ill be less shaky at 65#
Number your arrows and check to see if it's the same arrow, that goes out, each time. I've seen quite a few shooters pulling their hair about shooting problems, only to find out that 2 or 3 of their arrows had problems.
I personally had this problem, i couldn't figure out why I always had 1 arrow that would go high left on me. The rest were always in a group so i put a small dot on 1 fletching and turns out it is always the same arrow. So now i do not use that arrow for typical practice and hunting. I still use it when I want to do something like shoot a beer can or a pumpkin or something of that nature.
olfatguy's got it. Start there. If you find it is consistently one arrow inspect it closely. Check for nock misalignment, bent shaft, loose tip, damaged vanes. If all of those are negative, check arrow weight against others. Even if all are negative, it could be a manufacturing defect that resulted in a different spine than your others. Save you self a lot of time and aggravation - just toss it into your stump shooting arrow bucket or the trash.
Also, if it's carbon, check to see where the stiff section of the spine is in relation to the cock fletching.
Thanks! It appeares as it is the arrow! Gonna try and contact CX butr I doubt theyll replace it lol. Worht a shot. I also think i was griping the bow to tight. ive been practicing with a relaxed grip and im getting MUCH better groupings!! even at 50 yards!
looks like tuning problem. take a shaft cut the vanes off and put your nok in you will be using and a field point start at 10yards and work out till 35-40yards and your arrow should stick straight in no side/side up/down in it at all. then shot your stuff you will be hunting with.
dont forget to check out the easton arrow tuning guide: it really pinpointed what i needed to know. has a good section on arrow grouping to check out.... www.eastonarchery.com/pdf/tuning_guide.pdf
