I was lucky enough to arrow a nice 9 point in early November. The shot was about 30 yards from about 15’ elevation with the deer almost perfectly broadside if anything a few quartering away. The entrance was just behind the leg about a third way up the deer. When I showing him to some family I noticed the exit hole was about 2-3 inches and a couple of inches higher when I would expect 2-3 inches lower than the entry. Has anyone experience arrow/Broadhead deflection through the ribs? Or could the buck have started to move fast enough? I always had a lower exit on my other deer. Speed of sound is 1125 fps your bow rigged out to hunt I'll guess is throwing at 300fps. Could he have moved, yes. That amount of deflection isn't too bad when all things are considered. As Bucksnbears was trying to say ( like a fart in church) mech heads are known for large deflection, exponentially so as the size increases. Good luck
Did you notice the deer move just as you released? Saw a video where a deer moved just at release. Fortunately, the arrow hit the hind leg and severed the artery.
