What is a good arrow broad head setup for elk? Carbon vs aluminum/carbon composite Fixed vs mechanical Grain weights Shooting 60#@29" Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
60# 28".... would go with a med diameter shaft like ACC's, BEA Rampages or Spartans. I would put about 50-75 grains upfront in insert weight with any of the above shafts and then run a 100 grain fixed broadhead for a finished weight of 450-475 grains. Broadheads I would look at would be sticktrick mags, solids, Ironwill, Muzzy trocars, Steel Force, Magnus ect ect ..
Trial, I have been looking at the Iron will heads and was wondering if you have shot them? And if so, how do you like them? Wanted a real world review of them before I buy, and always like your review on products.
I have one yes.seems like a really top shelf head. I need to order a three pack and shoot some groups, after I put them through the paces I will definitely let you know what I think.
I shoot Easton FMJ's cut at 28.5 with no extra weight up front. Topped off with 100gr. Wasp drone broadheads. If I remember correctly they weigh in right around 470 gr. I'll double-check the weight of them today Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
