Do any of you guys use the Army Combat Uniform Digital Pattern (ACU) to hunt in? If so how do they work for you. The Loam seems to light to use in a tree stand but I know its not really about the color but about the pattern break up.
I'm currently sitting in Iraq with ACU's on. I don't imagine it would blend in too well with anything in the woods. Then again, it doesn't blend in with anything in Iraq either! :D I have never hunted in them but they do have a unique pattern break-up so who knows. I have used the old BDU pants once or twice but they use the Jungle camo pattern.
I use digital woodland camo pants when I go out. Thats only cause its the only camo I have from when I played paintball, it works just fine for me. I had a doe, fawn and a buck walk 10 yards from my stand yesterday, look right up at me cause I made a noise, then looked back down and kept walking. They don't have the same vision quality that humans do so its not that big of a worry, I think it should work just fine.
i hated the ACU when they made us wear it. Colors don't go with anything. Should have used the multicam from the get go. Now the way it fit was an improvement over the BDU.
I dnt think the ACU would work too well. I hate it as a uniform so i may be biased. However if you could get your hands on a set of multicams, i think that would work great.
The only camo I wear is Mossy Oak.....that is unless I am in Afghanistan sporting my Multi-cams....deffinently going to save a pair or two to possibly use in the woods....
I asked because I have some uniforms left from my stint in the Army. I was really thinking of the Marine Coprs Woodland Digi Cam. I think that would work out great.
