It is simple economics and the fact that employers can still dictate if they hire drug users. Pot in itself is illegal largely due to the Alcohol industry and their lobbying efforts. If it were grown in the US we could eliminate illegal trade, violence and quality concerns. We could tax it, create jobs around it and quite frankly the amount of users wouldn't likely go up. Here is an article that argues for complete legalization of drugs and another that doesn't see the value of all drugs. Maybe you can open your mind up for a minute and read this instead of taking the hard headed drugs are bad approach. Lets not forget that Marijuana doesn't kill people like Alcohol, a drug our society is built around. http://www.forbes.com/sites/petercohan/2012/07/09/is-it-time-to-legalize-illicit-drugs/ http://economics.about.com/od/incometaxestaxcuts/a/legalize_pot.htm
Can't wait until it is legal in your state and you have to run and hide from all of the dangerous stoners.
I remember when those same points were made to put more casinos in towns, lottery tickets to help our schools and higher taxes to end hunger. Don't believe the hype. This countries problems is not for lack of getting F'd up and don't think the money will go into some kind of savings for America. Not gunna happen. That's just my experience.
This is America. Why should I care if some guy sits out on his back porch and smokes some weed without hurting anyone? It is no different than alcohol other than it typically does not make you an angry individual. We need more freedoms in this country coupled with accepting the consequences of your actions. If one abuses alcohol and weed then they should be prepared to reap the consequences and shouldn't expect the government to come running to their aid. If a persons actions causes them to be homeless, hungry, and ostracized from general society, then so be it. Again, more freedoms need to be allowed along with accountability in the form of the government not helping every moron.
Afflicted, that is what saddens me, it is not that simple. We should leave most people to their own devices as long as they do not substantially intrude on other's individual freedoms. Our government, legal system, and laws are just way too much. Our founding fathers never meant it to be this way.
Yes but like the 20 year old kid in Conn, some people have issues and just can't handle what you or I are OK with We live this these people and have to think what best for all. I wish that kid could not get a hold of those guns or that his mother kept them from him. That isn't how it works all the time. Sad but true.
We used to live and hunt amongst wolves, sometimes as the predator sometimes as prey, have armies of barbarians raid our villages and rape and kill our women, countries and empires at war for generations, kings and queens killing off their own families to gain the throne, systematic extermination of whole groups of people....... It actually used to be a lot worse.
I know Many many people that smoke it. Been around it my whole life but 8 nevercdid it because I saw what it to people and those around them. NO THANKS Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
But it is still illegal under federal law from what I unserstand. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
Ironic, contrary to popular beliefs, pot is more dangerous than cigarettes, yet we aren't far from making them illegal now but we want pot legal. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
Im gonna say bull$hit on that one. Nicotine makes cigarettes one of the most addictive drugs there is and they kill how people per year? The majority of pot smokers I know might use it once a day, few times a week, or just every once in awhile...far less destructive than sucking down a pack or two of smokes a day
