Interesting. How about your biggest suppliers? The Mexican drug cartels. They kill anybody to get your weed to you?

I got your point but your missing the big picture.

As I stated your idea cure two senseless addictions and brings this country that much farther down.

But I'm sure my point is mute.

Actually, you miss the big picture. The big picture is, the Mexican drug cartels would lose business trying to run weed across the border. You see, because its now legal and it can be grown and sold here....legally. If you would open your mind a little bit you would see that.

Your second to last sentence makes zero sense.

Psssst....it would be a "moot" point.

Yeah, I have no heart and don't care about children one bit. But please, don't tell my kids that. It would crush their heart.

    I'm with ya Dan... gulp..

Legalize weed. I don't smoke the crap, but I can't recall too many people getting stoned and shooting any place up. Unless of course the 7 Eleven is out of Doritos...

Our country blows more money on foreign aid to countries that would rather blow us up, than they do on protecting its own civilians here in the states. Keep even half the spent on foreign aid and pot enforcement and there you go, more than enough money to put someone in the schools and keep what is really important, our kids, safe from the idiots lurking in this country.

Not to mention the tax revenue we would gain. If people are going to smoke it and it is less deadly than any other drug and alcohol it makes sense to allow people access legally and allow farmers to prosper off of it. A new industry that would benefit all aspects of life in America and allow us to free up a lot of prison space.

Foreign aid alone is around 60 billion, the war on drugs is another 39 billions and the state and federal level combined. Not to mention the 111 Billion to Afghanistan!

Point was stated weed doesn't kill. I ask if your Mexican suppliers are ever known for killing many people?
    Put down the bong.

Addiction. Yours for weed and our governments for money.

I thought you had kids that's why your desire to add more pot heads to our country is really weird to me.

How about just have a beer or glass of wine and not try to turn
America into a little Amsterdam for your children?

A lot of assumptions there. Obviously you think I smoke pot. I do not. I did in college, but that was many years ago.

You really need to educate yourself a little and not believe everything you read in your emails.
    Legalizing marijuana would:
    A) End "Mexican drug cartels" illegal trade of it in this country.
    B) Create an economic boom in this county and create a lot of jobs.
    C) (This is the big one) It would save tax payers billions of dollars that could be spent on protecting and educating our children. Which is the whole intent of this thread. Is it not?

Again, you assume I smoke pot.

I want our country to quit wasting money, plain and simple. This "War on Drugs" has gone on for too many years and has done nothing but waste money and get people killed. Its time to start doing something different.

Yeah, because legalizing marijuana will create a whole lot more stoners. I guarantee you know people that you would consider good upstanding citizens that smoke it. To think that's false is naive. There's also a very high probability that your daughter will try it while in college. Lets just hope it doesn't turn her into lazy stoner looking for a bag of chips.

To tiring to keep going into. Your Ideals show your age as a young buck and acting on your own understanding. I've got enough years behind me to know this is BS.
Much like seeking lottery tickets to the poor and ignorant will solve our school money problems.

Maybe you should run for President. You seem to know so much more than the the people and governments that feel it should not be made legal but as the left gain more traction in this country I'm sure they will sell us out for those funds you speak of.

Will coke and heroine be made legal as well or should we keep fighting that war?

Please inform Dan and I about your vast and extended experiences in life that would eliminate any notion of success in what Dan previously posted. How in God's name do you think the cartels could operate if this country sold a better product for less money that was easily accessible???

Have you been at the steering wheel lately? We have states that have legalized it, it is not something too out of reach as we speak.

So your saying we'll be producing the coke as well.

Uncle. It's your world kids and you will have to deal with it longer than I will.

If have need to be able to look a little further down the road and give a damn about others that maybe can't handle it.

It could be one of your kids.
