My new Halon is the Halon 6 with a 6" bh. Being a short bh than what I've had in the past, do you all use a certain arm guards during bow season? I know come November we all wear more layers and such with a heavier jacket. I typically do not wear one when out practicing as I have pretty decent form but come hunting I have always used this one.

I have one the only time I would need it is if I have to break out the IWOM, matter of fact I keep it in the pocket.

I don't use them anymore but if I did it would be a padded sleeve rather than something with clips and straps.

I always wear one when practicing and shooting a couple dozen arrows, but in the tree when I'm taking only 1, 2, or 3 shots I don't. In fact I bought jackets with integrated arm guards and I pulled them off.

Arm guards are only needed w improper grip or when wearing a bulky jacket. Brace heights I haven't seen a dif. I never use one n Id bet most guys that do can be fixed w simple grip correction

ok thanks guys, I'll stick with the one I have for hunting then. Like I mentioned before, when practicing I never wear it. I just wear it hunting to keep my jacket from getting hit.

I only wear one if I wear a heavy coat(<40 degrees). When I do I wear a long sleeve guard that goes to the elbow.

If you need an arm guard with a compound because of string slap then you probably need to check your grip and/or your draw length. Lessons from painful experience.

If I am wearing a bulky jacket then I will use a sock with the bottom cut out as a compression sleeve.
