in your area consider sunn hemp. My source for mine is in arkansas and it's an overlooked forage for deer. I have a southern draw blend i ship to the guys down south that has: wheat/oats/radish/forage turnip/crimson clover/berseem clover/winfred brassica that mix has many levels of maturities and can be put on any soil.
