Ballsy. I couldn't do more than $100 worth the other day. My cheapness overrides all else.

My interests are fueled by my budget...arrows seem to be a better investment right now then ammo. I still have quite a few boxes of 7mm bullets, a fair amount of brass and a decent supply of powder, but I really haven't thought too much about shooting anything other then my bow recently :D

I think one of the reasons the ammo of all kinds is selling like crazy is due to the talks of regulating it to an extent. Talks of no online or mail purchasing, limiting how many rounds you can buy without being flagged, IL wanted a per round tax at one point.

I've admitted all along to panic buying, IL wants guns out of our hands as much as Feinstein. They were banned once with a 10 year sunset limit(whatever the clause was called) Feds may not get it, but IL with their backs to the wall with CCW are going to be hell bent on doing something.

Who cares why people buy one. Knee jerk reaction, long term thought process...whatever. Some people on here don't believe a person should be able to buy an AR or even continue owning one so they resort to pseudo making fun of people who "rushed out" to buy one like they are some sort of neanderthal without a long term intelligence.

I'm in the middle of buying a gun that I've been looking for a few years. Had nothing to do with what we're going through, i just finally found it. Also bought my daughter a muzzleloader and myself a muzzleloader recently.

I wish I had more ammo, but I ain't paying the price they want right now for it. My only fear is...it will be like gas. Once we pay alot for ammo, it will never get cheaper again. I hope not. It was already too expensive if you ask me. I saw Rem .243 core lock today for $29.95/box. I bought a box for my son in Nov for $10 less. They're stickin it to us, just cause they can.

I think some of it is fueled by that. But I also think because this was a bowhunting aite, it took longer for some people to feel ok to talk about guns. I remember once asking a question about putting a peepsite on my flintlock in a traditional hunting forum and got chewed out lol. All ignorant responses because I guess open sights are the only traditional way and how dare I bring up any other options lol. I'm willing to bet some have had that happen (this site or others) or seen it happen, so were a little more cautious posting about guns on a bow site. Just a guess really.

Yeah, I seem Christine's post in the other thread. Reminded me I had a box my brother bought me about 4 years ago. 2¢ a round. Looks like it said $9.?8 from K-Mart. Couldn't get the marker to wipe off.

I haven't read any of the replies yet but I have to say no for the most part of all this ban talk. My drive comes from my daughter who is very interested in shooting now. She wants to hunt with bow and rifle. She really enjoys shooting a .22 revolver I borrowed from my boss. She wants to shoot my pistols but I would sooner start her out with a little less kick and a smaller framed pistol. It is the main reason I bought the Bersa 380. Now if it would warm up so I can get her shooting.

I'm definitely not a knee jerk kind of guy. I last bought some ammo probably around August of 2011. I've got a few boxes of 12 guage, maybe 60 rounds of 30-06, a couple boxes of 243.... a couple hundred rounds of 22 LR and maybe 40 rounds of 50 Cal muzzleloader ammo. I dumped all my pistols when I moved to NY from Maryland and threw in the ammo I had for them. If the crap hits the fan I figure I can hold my own for a little bit and maybe pickup something from dead people. LOL Honestly, what in the hell would I do with 1000 rounds of 30-06 or 243. I probably haven't fired more than a dozen of each in the last 2 years just sighting in. I'm not ready to declare Armageddon just yet.

My place I told you about still has a bunch of .22 ammo. They marked their bricks up $3.05 each since I bought three bricks there yesterday though.

If you were closer I could share a little with you....

It helps when you divide the numbers correctly. Maybe I was just half asleep on a Friday afternoon when I was said that :)

Really? Who said that? I certainly have never seen anyone here say those things. Sounds like paranoia to me.

My CCW should be here in the next couple days, I see it as I needed a couple extra magazines for a few of my guns that I was putting off for some reason or another, with whats going on now I went ahead and picked them up because they will not be available for a few months if I waited any longer, I needed and wanted them so no knee jerk reaction here. I'm sure a lot of folks feel are in the same situation as myself, procrastination!

As far as the ammo, same thing, if I want to shoot my guns, pretty simple....I need ammo, once again no knee jerk reaction here either! If guys want to go out and buy guns and ammunition, please do, its fun!!!!!!! :tu:

Fletch, you are intelligent person, so yes, you have seen that type of talk. Paranoia, nah, I don't think so.

"Seems to be a knee-jerk reaction. Some of the guys that I know that are buying AR's right now have no real reason in mind. A couple that I have asked simply said, because some day I may not be able to get one. It kind of seems to me like they were getting along pretty well without one prior. I see no reason to run out and pay two or three times what they were worth prior to the last mass shooting. It's not like they will kill a coyote any deader than the rifles I already own. To me, its like telling a kid they cant have a cookie until after dinner. It just makes them want it so much more. The forbidden fruit. It would be kind of like aluminum arrows being outlawed and half the guys that are already shooting carbon going out and buying up every last aluminum arrow they could get their hands on. They dont really need them, and likely wont really use them, but they feel a strong urge to have something that others may not get. It's all a little comical to me. I dont begrudge anyone from owning one, they are cool. But, I have no desire to own one and dont see the urgency factor."

You not only don't have a desire to own one but don't think people should be able to buy or own one. You also think the government should have the right to limit our gun/ammo/clip capacities.

I haven't bought anything hunting or gun related except a deer cam in the last 6 months.

Got other priorities at the moment...
