Maybe not on my exact property but in the same woodlot I hunt and he DOES pass through it as a buck. Any given year? 140-150" last year saw one that would push 160 and he didnt die though. Every few years? Well in 05, a guy 5-700 yards from my stand setups killed a 195" brute that made top ten for the state that year, and I would bet my truck I saw him from stand earlier in the year. Maybe we are due again for a beast like that one.
IN MY AREA Any Given year 150" (this would be during the rut) Every few years Im not sure. I never seen a buck that was bigger then a 150" in my area. And a 150" IS VERY RARE!!!!!
Any given year 130-140" range. I don't think I can give an "every few years or so size" becuase I've never really seen anything much bigger than what I already listed. But I'll throw out a "potential" that may walk across the property size at 160+" range, just from knowing/seeing what he county may produce.
Based off observations over the past few seasons, talking to the farmer who farms our property, I would say any given year we have one 120" on the property. I would say, every few years, we "might" have a 140 class deer, but not usually much more.
Me too!!!! I love when someone says they saw a deer that was at least "xx" points. I've seen a couple legitimate 180" deer in an open area in NW Ohio, been as close as 25yds to one going to full draw when his GIRLFRIEND (who was right below me, and I mean spitting on her head right below me) "BLEW me out!!!" I'd seen a couple others in that same area that were true monsters, 2 of the 3 or 4 largest deer I've ever seen were on that farm in NW Ohio. On any given year, in most of the places I hunt, there is a possibility for a 150-class year, on some rare occasions, there are some MONSTERS!!!! I spotted a HUGE NT for years in high school and just after that to our knowledge no one ever killed. I'm sure he crawled into a hole somewhere and died. This was on a farm the 6 legitimate B&C were killed on in a period of about 6 yrs., ufortunately none were killed by me. But I saw them on occasion, just never close enough to kill!!!
I'd say on any given year, 115-120". Every 5ish or so years, you might find one that goes 130+. I base this off conversations with the taxidermist who owns property that butts up against ours, my own hunting experience, as well as discussions with other hunters that really put in the time during rifle season. Through about a 1500 acre patch, there is usually 4 or 5 bucks in the 90 to 100" range on the hill, and 2 or maybe 3 in the 115 to 120" range. I've personally seen a small handful in the 110-130 range over the period of 5 years or so (about 3 of them). The taxidermist says that he sees one come into the shop from the surrounding properties every 5ish years that goes over 130. The problem is that the area is a 1500ish acre patch, and I've only got 130 acres on it. I'm sure they cross and bed on our property from time to time, but they wander a good bit and even though there is low pressure on our patch, they get slaughtered on almost every surrounding property.
200" plus wandering around on the various lands I hunt. I have seen several over the years and just havent had a shot yet. I will though, and he will have an arrow kill him that day. I am a patient individual 130-150 every year
