Are transition lenses just too old man like?

So its time for me to get a new pair of glasses and I've considered getting transition lenses. Just the practical aspect intrigues me. But my perception of them has been that only old men get them.

I'm 35. Still to young to go down that old man slippery slope?

Or, to hell with how they look its the functional use that is important

I'd get them. But then look at my handle.

I just bought some for hunting and put them in some cool frames. They look fine but not they work that well.
Jury is still out on them.

Wait a minute.... it's hearing loss we need to talk about. LOL I lost my ears 40 something years ago. You're worried about bright sunlight. OK... yes... get the glasses. If they fail you... well get something else. It could be much worse. My ears have been ringing for what????? 44 years or so. I've gotten used to the ringing...most of the time. It's when all of a sudden I get this bing... bang... tone pitch that I go crazy. You want to see better in the wrong light... get the lenses.

Are transition lenses like bi-focals or are the like progressive(like bi-focals but the focus changes progressively as you look "up" the lense) lenses? I have used bi-focals and currently have progressive. The next glasses I get will likely be bi-focals.

I bought some about 10 years ago. They may be better now, but they seemed to always be somewhat dark, even when indoors. They weren't really dark enough to be sunglasses, either. I wouldn't buy another pair, I rarely wore those.

I have prescription sunglasses already . I just thought they would nice for hunting. Sunglasses when its sunny. Just clear when its dark. No need to carry two pairs and change glasses during a hunt. Or like I do now. Squint when the sun is in my eyes.

They're not polerized and don't get very dark so you can't even tell their sunglasses and my lens may be off or something. Just not adjusting to them so far and I bought then just for bow hunting.
They may go back. Owned them for about three weeks now.

I have a pair of H-D glasses like this for riding. Mine are clear as safety glasses at night.

I like mine a lot, they change over pretty quick now a days. You can also get them as dark, or light as you want them when they change!
