Makes no difference to me personally. Everyone picks their own challenge and enjoyment. When I think of archery hunters targeting and taking mature buck (or any buck for that matter), I think of the many challenges involved. It's not easy for most of us and even then, we need some luck. Hit me as I watched the show, the hunter in this case virtually eliminated all of the top challenges by using a tower blind (I'm sure all tower blinds are not the same...). Essentially, the buck had to show and he needed to make an ethical kill shot. That is a much different hunting experince than I normally take / have done to date. Not all deer are taken equally. Rifle, compound, long bow, 300 yard shot, 30 yard shot, Tree stand, ground blind, tower blind, bait, etc. To each their own. If you are enjoying the sport and proud of how you took the animal, that is all that matters. I simply never realized how different the experince could be with a tower blind as seen on this show.
We have 3 elevated blinds and i would never consider them "cheating". You still have to be just as quiet Who knows which part they added in post production. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Bowhunting out of a tower blind is still challenging. You have to get the deer to walk within bow range and that's not as easy as picking the right tree sometimes. I have one that I build and it's really nice. Mostly I built it so I could take my wife or daughter with me and maybe let them have a chance during rifle season. Where I find it the most beneficial is being able to hunt longer or on days that you just don't want to be out in the elements. They are also good for quick evening hunts. I killed my buck in 2016 on one of those type hunts. That's the only deer I've shot out of that blind.
