Which is the point I made above. There's no doubt it was out of control, but that's not why he left. The locker room being out of control was a symptom of what he was trying to accomplish, which was to keep the team at the top and remain a winning atmosphere. In order to do that, he has to put every ounce of energy into the team and being a coach, and as a result, one of the symptoms was an out of control locker room and the other leading to his mental/health issues. He stepped down because of the latter.
Well one was a result of the other. Trying to keep the team in line probably led to him into putting in countless hours and trying to keep the team at the top. The locker room being out of control and his health were certainly related. You can't argue the hours he was putting in that everyone including his staff and family atested to as well as he lost 37 pounds. I'm not sure why it''s hard for you to relate the two.
