His cure was getting away from football and re-evaluating how much time he spent being a coach and watching film. Not being a football coach for a year certainly would have cured him quickly. No pressure, no late nights in the film room, and he said he had to change how much time he spent working. Exhaustion is what was killing him, change that and it can very easily be fixed.
Yeah, because he changed, the man is driven to win, he's putting same hours he did in at fsu. That's what makes him great coach. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Typical nonsense from people who dislike the man. I believe him and his former assistants who actually know him. Meyer, admittedly, lost that balance at Florida following his second national title in 2008, driving himself mad trying to be perfect and do it all himself while he lost 37 pounds and nearly lost his life. The pressure to repeat is higher now more than ever, though, mainly because Meyer's at a place like Ohio State which eats, sleeps and breathes Buckeye football. Meyer and Addazio won a boatload of games everywhere they coached together. But according to Mullen, being back home has helped Meyer put his mind at ease. "I think he's changed when he walks out the door and I think that's what he learned from the balance of you know what, at 11 o'clock at night, it's OK to close your eyes and go to sleep and you're still going to find a way to win," Mullen said Friday. http://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-...an-meyer-and-ohio-states-quarterback-quandary
deny all you want but that is what happened its pretty common knowledge and I'll trust players instead of the people that were collecting a check from Meyer
Well because Hooker thinks it, it must be true. (insert laughing emoticon - Hooker's trademark "know it all" attitude)
7-5 his last year when he coached. He did not have the talent compete and he knew it. I give him credit for knowing the ride was over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
But that's not why he left. He left because he was putting in every ounce of energy into the team and keeping them at the top. The locker room being out of control is a symptom of what he was trying to accomplish. You can't call the symptom the cause, any logical person knows that.
I do not doubt at all the UF locker room was out of control. That's all the better for tOSU. Learn from past mistakes and do not repeat them. tOSU team is tight with a great team unity. Meyer has learned a lot at his few stops and it helped him put this program back together faster after the sanctions.
