As per that article no deer are safe then correct? Aa there is a 18-24 incubation period any and all deer could have it. The safe deer to eat is one that is tested ia the next step one would assume right.....But tests are " inconclusive " more often than not so good luck y'all. As for me I'm going to continue eating my deer and hating on the high fence ****** hunters that perpetuated this.
I wouldn't hate to the high fence killers - they didn't do this. The US Govt did when they injected deer with Scrapies back in the 60's. That's how it originally jumped the species barrier. From there it was only a matter of time....
Ending the deer farming would certainly go a long ways towards slowly the spread. It seems like a the outbreaks being reported recently are in close proximity of deer farms. End high fence hunting operations and the severity of the problem will be greatly reduced.
The high fence farms are a part of this problem. Not the entire problem and ending all of them won't eliminate CWD, but it would sure help. https://www.wpr.org/looking-slow-cwd-dnr-board-oks-fencing-requirements-deer-farms
