Spotty here. The reds were falling at my parents house today, about 12 miles from where I hunt. Nothing is falling where I hunt.

I noticed a few have fallen but the canopy is still loaded. About a week and a half it will be a different story.

The white oaks rained last year. Ive been told the whites are very spotty this year. I dont expect much out of them.

Don't know what species but the ground in the back is covered with them, small about the size of a marble. Dry summer?

Whites are very sparse in my area I’m in southwest PA. The reds are a little better, but definitely not raining down like last year.

I do tree work for a living and I've seen exactly one white oak dropping acorns so far this season. The big white oaks (100+ year old's) in my hunting area aren't dropping this year and they didn't last year either. I'm starting to wonder if the maturity of a tree dictates how often they produce acorns.
I have never seen a white oak drop acorns two years in a row, while I see red oaks do that regularly.

I'm so glad to hear you say that about the reds. Reds are all we have , they all don't drop in any given year and unlik what we are told they are suppose to do, some drop every year. It will be a hard drop every other year and a light drop the following yeat. Some only drop ever third year. Yes they are all red.

I’m in South Florida. Last year it rained white and black acorns. Our white(Green) are what everything eats. The black oaks, not so much and mainly rot out once rainy season starts. You’ll see some hog rooting later after they rot.

This year, it appears our oaks aren’t producing acorns at all. I’m not seeing much, but they normally naturally fall when we get a cold snap. It’s still 90+.

Looking @ our oak trees, I’m not seeing much growth. Last two years, hurricanes and winds associated blew the Oakes clean of acorns. We were rolling in acorns everywhere. This year, not so.

They are definitely dropping in pa. I have 4 trees in my hard that somewhat hang over the house. I’ve been getting woken up in the middle of the night for the past few days from acorns hitting the roof and rolling down into the gutter. Went up on the roof today to clean out gutters and got damn near a five gallon bucket out of them. Walking in yard is almost hazardous. Could easily turn an ancient if I’m not careful.

Agreed! We have a ton of white oaks (bur oak) and I’m pretty sure they are done dropping acorns now. Around 4 weeks ago they started falling. I could hear them like branches falling all through the first two weeks of our season.
