I think we all know the problems with AT since most of us are members there too. I only go there for the classifieds when I'm looking for something specific. I think a lot of the blame lies with the mods or whomever makes the decisions on what's allowed and what's not allowed. Seems you can't even ask a simple question without getting blasted by someone who thinks you have an agenda or that you're stupid.

All the pro archers used to be there as well. The vast majority of those guys quit posting too.

There are a few extremely knowledgeable people there but there are also many more that are clueless and just repeat the same bad info they have read before without any true knowledge.

It has become extremely difficult to weed through the crap to get to the good stuff and if you're a beginner, I would suspect it would be near impossible to differentiate between the good and bad.

This was my impression after checking out some other threads over there. Don't know why it's all a competition or see who's the bigger guy.

I rarely post over there. There are some extremely knowledgable tuners, string builders, etc. there, but dealing with the hair pulling that goes on is overwhelming. You can not post a brand specific question without getting clobbered by the fanboys.

I use it for the classifieds and the DIY section. The Classified are huge and I've never had an issue selling or buying from guys on there (if you do, do your homework on the individual and make sure you use something that is trackable for payment/shipping).

AT is larger because its been around longer that BH.com. However, BH.com, in my opinion is far better in almost every way except the classifieds and DIY section.

I like this site much better. With any larger community, you have to deal with more people with less knowledge who think they know it all. BH.com seems more like people who want to learn and want to teach. Everyone on AT acts like they stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I agree that this site is better. Where I'm new to the sport I started on AT and found this site by accident. Now i'm almost exclusively on BH.com and have learned a helluva lot more here than on AT

When I decided to look for a forum, this is the first one I came across I think. I have an account on AT I think or use to have. Not sure if I ever posted on there. After reading it, just not for me.

They've been around a looong time. I remember them back in the days of dial-up internet! Never really liked it there though... can't really explaine why. I do remember back ten years ago there was a lot of bashing and bullying. It does have a ton of members, but I wonder how many are actually active users........ I used to loyally frequent a forum called Archery Outdoors (gone now I believe) that I loved. It was a lot like this place.
