I understand that Nantucket has some excellent hunting.I was at Martha's Vinyard two summers ago for a vacation.I saw deer tracks in the sand along side the road when I was out for runs.
Unfortunately I have no information that would be helpful to you.I wish you good luck and as I am sure you are already aware take all the tick precation you can!
I still remember a funny conversation I had with a native Nantucketer a couple years ago.Out there for a family vacation, wife and daughter and I are headed out to dinner,we stop to get gas and I notice a grizzled local with a Matthews archery sticker on his rear pick up window. He is pumping gas directly oppo
site me.Iask him how is the deer hunting out here? He looks at me and I can tell what he is thinking. What does this yuppie looking guy, know about deer hunting.I love when that happens!I just get the biggest kick out of the preconceived notions that some folks have.Any way in short order we are having the best conversation.

Hey Scot thanks for the reply. I know a little bit about Nantucket my buddies and I have rabbit hunted there but not for a couple of years due to rising ferry cost and a lack of a place to stay with beagles . Yes the deer hunting is great except a lot of posted property and lots of deer hunters but thecost of the ferry is the real problem last i knew it was about $250.00 round trip two years ago. Plus cost of lodging. One of the best things is no ticks.Im thinking about Marthas Vineyard this fall just a short ferry ride this time of year $85.00 round trip plus I my have some old contacts from years back.If your looking for any information on either island let me know maybe I can help you out.I didnt mention I live on Cape Cod just across
    the ocean. Thanks Again

    mlopez,
Thank you for offerring your contact information! That is very kind! I just don't know that much about the hunting out there.I have a pretty good sense of the terrain having been there a number of times. The woods are incredibly thick, some of the area's I saw where farms were have some agricultural ground or pastures, some ridges and some tree's that would be more suitable for getting a stand in.
I had seen a couple of articles in hunting magazines where there were some very good bucks taken off Nantucket.
