Well to start with I have been hunting since a youngster but bow hunted last year and my buddy has been bow hunting for 3 or 4 years. we have convinced our good friend to start bow hunting with us so we have 3 people (members) and that should constitute an Archery Hunt Club. Long story short my buddy killed a few deer last year with some bad shots both were gut shots but we found them after long tracks. We have decided to name our club Gut Shot Archery, GSA... primarily because those are the only shots that have killed deer for us so far and we are basically beginners and im sure those wont be the last shots that are sub par (hopefully they are the last bad shots though). We want to get some hats, shirts, and stickers made. I gotta friend whos uncle does shirts for a living and another whos uncle does stickers. Does anyone know the best way about going about the hats?
You can obviously do whatever you want, but there are a lot of archers that will have strong negative feelings about your club's name. It seems to show a lack of respect for the sport and the animals. Everyone can make a poor hit now and then, but we owe it to ourselves and the game to be proficient with our weapons before we ever take to the field. I would also vote for a name change.
yeah as bad as it does sound, and i do agree, there is no disrespect to the sport, the animals, nor anyone on this board and assoicated with bow hunting.... primarily the name is more of a joke than anything and only because that only shots that any of us have confirmed kills. but we are new to the game and speaking for myself, do take pride in being able to shoot at as high of a level as possible and passed up many longer shots last year because i was not comfortable at anything over 25 yards. again the name mite be a little too over the top and sorry for any disrespect that may have been felt becuase i do enjoy being a part of this site and respect the input that people put in here that can be useful. thanks for the tip on bass pro doing hats though.
i'd call it no luck archery club folks get the wrong idea bout thangs even when we both know you dont mean it that way whatever you do i hope you do good and have lots of enjoyment out of it and have lots of memories w/your club brethren best of luck to you!
