Good lord. If I ever go bear hunting I will be packing in something other than just sharp broadheads and knives. Nope Nope and Nope on getting mauled. Scary stuff.

yeah i saw that the other day. One more reason I am not sure I would want to go bear hunting with a bow. Something about shooting an animal from close range that wants to kill me doesn't sound like much fun.
Bear hunting has got to be a rush. Trying to kill something that can climb up a tree faster than you can fall out of one. Big wounded boar hogs can give you a few stitches as well if there not dead by the time you reach them. Kilboars Hunt Club
Wouldn't the fact that there's been so few of them actually make it a big deal? It's not every day a guys mauled by a 500 lb black bear and kills the thing with a knife.
True, wonder what kind of knife? I imagine getting the blade open with a bear chewing on you has to be a challange
