So the rest of you guys just click and buy? Or add it in with milk and eggs at the store and its done? I know most all other states don't have FOID cards, but you still don't have to proove age?

Whenever I buy ammo they they just ask for your ID. Here in Ohio you have to be 18 for rifle and shotgun and 21 for pistol ammo.

Online it is click and buy. In the stores they somtimes ask your birth date and at times ask for photo ID. As Siman said, 18 for rifle and shotgun ammo, 21 for pistol ammo.

Lucky Gunner has PMC 223 FMJ in stock. Selling for $22.00 a box plus shipping. This is the same stuff I am buying local now for $7.75 a box. I got 5 boxes yesterday, the wife stopped in and got 5 more and I'm going back at lunch today for another 5.

Well just went around to a handful of local shops, they had everything I wanted in stock but it's almost insulting the prices. Here's what they were, and let's say I walked out empty handed.
    50 $ pmags
    1$ per 556 round
1000$ for the cheapest of uppers
    399$ for a stripped lower
    500$ for a BCG

Absolutely asinine if you ask me.

No these where small locally owned gun shops, but I was at the fun this week and they simply just didn't have any mags or ammo at all. All I could find was that zombie max for 30 bucks a box. But they did double up there prices on finished guns. They had a dpms oracle for 1599. A gun that my buddy bought for 620 a day after the shooting.

But I've already paid full gun price for 2/3 of a gun. Barrels aren't any cheaper either, yet I know when I finally complete it a large influx of parts will flood the markets and prices will drop back down some. It's just my luck

I really want to try and support these local businesses but it really makes it hard with this price gouging. And the service is just plain terrible at the four places I've been the past two days, sure I look like some punk *** kid but dang if you want me to buy something atleast try to be helpful. Let's just say I would rather do business at Walmart.
    Ok rant over.

I'm feeling really luck. The local guy isn't gouging at all. I'm paying 7.75 a box for my 223. He has them on a 5 box a day limit, but I'm just going in everyday and getting my 5. Today I went in, got those 5 and added 2-50 round Hornady V-Max .17 (10.75 ea) and he charged me an even $60.00. He has earned my loyalty and future business for sure.

I would love to do things local, but I just don't see it feasible right now. So many people are looking for the same things and I can't hang out at the shops waiting to see packages opened in hopes of being there at the right time. Truthfully, I don't think any gun shop is truly struggling right now. A couple I called acted like it would be burdensome to do an FFL transfer when I was buying my lower. Some places appreciate business others just expect it. Then again, it's hard to judge a place right now when their phones constantly ringing and answering the same questions over and over. I'm sure it gets old quick.

I've spent time between 2 shops, one is gouging is beyond obscene. The other seems to be holding somewhat normal pricing. They just have very little in stock. I dont even think they are getting 223 in. Thier 9, 40 & 45 is 1 box a day. They've got many AR's & other semi's on consignment, and those prices are too high. They must have gotten a recent shipment of "hunting" rifles in because thier shelves are packed full with those, and just a couple weeks ago they were half bare. Been tossing around a new single shot H&R slug gun. Maybe the "assault weapon" version with the thumbhole stock LOL
