Any body have any insight on when all the companies will catch up on their stock? I'm building my first AR and its damn near impossible to find what I want.

And another topic, but how much effect is this huge uprise in buying having on these companies stock and what have you? Just seems like they can't build tactical weapons and parts fast enough for demand? Somebody educate me.

if you have the lower you might be better to wait it out for the rest. im not the one to educate tho lol i only have one ar and i just bought it off the shelf i didnt build it.

i never thought about buying stock, but it might not be a bad idea unless they ban assult rifles all together

Just be patient and watch for sites to get some limited stock back. Companies like Midway allow backorders, and at least give a lead time estimate. Thanks to buckeye, I was able to pick up a few in stock 30rd mags, albeit a bit higher than I wanted to pay.

If you have your stripped lower, you're good for now. I THINK even Feinstein's bill proposal includes grandfathering.

I have the lower, the mags, and ammo, lol. I haven't out an order in for an upper since most of the ones I'm watching have almost a 6month lead time.

I kinda got screwed on mags, I ordered a bunch then three days later they tell me they are out of stock. Very salty about that one.

After a bunch of searching I found two sites that have CMMG lower part kits in stock in the $50's.... Also found a lower rec kit (minus receiver of course) with a decent LPK & some upgrades such as MOE grip and decent adjustable stock for $199.... If you want any of that info let me know and I can dig it back up for you... Just get your name on the backorder list (if you haven't backordered yet) - PMAG is ramping up their production and switching most of their resources to black 20 & 30 round pmags - so the sooner you get your name on the list, sooner you will get your mags..

We should use this thread to give updates on parts we find in stock for everyone who may be building or trying to find back up parts.

Make a post on what you have found like SouthDakotahunter did and if any of us need any of those parts we can PM each other the info.

Keep it private so the hoarder price gougers don't find the stuff and buy to markup and resell.

I ordered some 20 round Thermold mags the other day for $5 a piece. Believe they are the same ones Rock River sells on their site for like $12 a piece. Not near the quality of the pmags but figure if my mags on backorder don't come in before restrictions were to take place I'll be glad I bought a few....

Just double checked and they still appear to be in stock... Shoot me a PM if your interested...

I just gave $3O For a used 30 round mag at the local army surplus store. He said they were selling for $80.00 each at the gun show in Kansas City last weekend. I don't know why I wasn't thinking about the mags when I bought the gun. The guy I got the gun from had them for $9. Live and learn I guess.

Just an update on my build:

Dpms lower parts kit came in the other day and I installed it. I really wanted a little higher quality kit but this was the only one I could find in stock so it will have to do. After playing around with it the trigger was TERRIBLE, my best guess pulling around 9 lbs. But after about an hour polishing the contact surfaces and some tweeting of the spring I think I got it where I want it.

Next coming in is a Ace skeleton stock and hopefully ordering a scope within the next couple weeks. Probably gonna have to wait it out to find the upper I want though.

As others have said if anyone is looking to start a lower is your best bet, maybe even a collapsible stock if that's what urban wanting. Idk if the sale of then will be effected if a ban goes in but I'm sure the price will at least go up. Most lpk are gonna be about the same especially the trigger, most mil-spec triggers are pretty stiff. I've heard good things about the alg or the spikes tactical battle triggers being a good substitute. Other than that your gonna pay little for a decent light trigger.

Something affordable, but not as low as dpms. I'm thinking rock river arms or bcm. I'm up to suggestions though.

What's the budget? I got a lead on a $400 Palmetto A4 upper minus the bolt carrier group if you are interested. Could be sold already though?

Man I wouldn't want to be buying this stuff at todays prices. If I where you'd I'd buy just the lower to get your foot in the door if any pre ban were to happen. Then wait a year or so and buy all the components. Kinda sucks but either your gunna pay out the nose or your going to have to be really patient and ride this thing out. That's the cost of not getting one when they were readily available. I am sensing me and you have the same attitude though. lol When I want something I obsess over it and plow through any obstacles until I get it. Only problem in this case is I think you'll over pay and/or get parts that arent that great but where available. Good luck though.

Kind of where I'm at now. Not willing to panic buy.
