I am looking to get an AR-15 for Christmas... Need some info though. Looking for any suggestions on make, model, and caliber. I am looking at DPMS right now but i need a caliber. What is the best for all big game animals on NA?

Well if your looking more at a do all AR variant. I'd be looking at the .308 versions. You have them made by LMT, Bushmaster, Armalite, SunDevil, ect...

I have a DPMS .223. It's a great gun...but I wouldn't buy a .223 to be your big game gun. In some states it's legal to use it for deer hunting. Here in WI we can use them, and I did actually take it out once on a drive and ended up shooting a small doe. I was using Extreme shock 62grains and placed the shot just right... dropped her in her tracks. One time was enough, I proved to myself (and some skeptical buddies) it can kill a deer (small deer) but won't be using it again, because I fear if that was a little bit larger deer, it wouldn't have been as effective. Take a look at the .308... that would be sufficient.

They are a very fun gun! Good luck!

.308 is an uses a different lower (AR-10), you can't slap a .308 upper on your AR-15 lower.
