I have spent the last minutes getting caught up by reading all the group post. Hope all goes well for the treestandsniper, thoughts and prayers for you buddy. I am born and raised Missouri boy, Air Force kept me away from my great state for a few years, back home in west central Mo. For keeps now. I have worked for an Electric Coop for almost twenty years as a journeyman lineman... Stormy weather had us running today.) I recently accepted the ops manager position, so my free time during the day is nonexistent. I have been bow hunting for 30 years.. That makes me sound old.) I have killed several deer and turkey. I usually don't worry to much about score, but have been lucky enough to get a couple of high 150s Mainly just try to kill an older mature buck. I am very lucky to have a lot of places to hunt. My backup is always my dads farm, 30 minute drive. He has around 500 acres of mixed cattle pastures and timber. He retired a few years back, and now all the grass is crop ground planted to soy beans this year. I've had cams up for three weeks with nothing good to show. I waited to long last year and did not make the contest, just squeezed in this year. Had a real heartbreaker last year, hunted a giant droptine for month and half., Could not seal the deal and he lived ..twenty two minutes into rifle season .)my neighbor killed the monster. . Oh well Win some loose some I ended up killing a decent eight that I videoed earlier in the season with my decoy. Looking forward to getting to know everyone, hope you all kill the buck of your dreams this year. Polecat Mike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was just using my phone. ) I ended up killing this buck a week later. He came in chasing a doe, had been grunting and growling for twenty minutes just out in the thick stuff. I was sure it was a different buck I had been seeing. I seen horns and concentrated on a good shot. Live and learn, still a decent buck.
Say hello to my not so little friends!!!! We were going to call this deer twin towers but after some careful consideration we determined that would be a terrible name. If we shot him would we say, "down goes twin towers"? It would just come off bad and disrespectful. So we named him skyscraper. Next up: Cactus He would be a main frame 8 but he has two long kickers and is missing his G1 on his right side. Not sure what he is going to net but he has to gross over 150 I would think.
Nice bucks Joe Bear! I named one of my bucks Cactus in 2012. I arrowed him in early November. I hope you do the same with your Cactus.
Missouri starts tomorrow the 15. It will be this weekend before I can go. I usually spend the first few weeks turkey hunting and scouting. I hate to educate and burn out any good spots. Halloween is the real beginning for me. I won't let a good cold front pass or any shooter bucks moving in the daylight on my cams. The next few card pulls will dictate when and how often I will hunt each stand.
Saw one little buck this morning. Hope to shoot a doe tonight and get us on the board with 50 points.
