I passed on a button buck. Had it at 14 yards, but I don't shoot bb's. I was trying to get a shot at the doe it was with but it never happened.
Well what you guys think for the rut? Apparently the "forecasters" we're saying October 28 was start. So this weekend and next couple days will be peak. I've never remembered seeing the action that early. Usually 5-13 have been my best luck over the years nailing a buck. Any thoughts?
Leaving tomorrow for Ohio. Hard to tell what bucks might be moving in or moving out but I'm looking forward to finding out! Catch ya later boys! I'll try to report in Wednesday night or Thursday afternoon. Good luck out there!
Good luck northern Ohio has been slow although on my drive to woods this evening I seen a decent buck with a doe bedded down in a field
Well just got into the tree for my first sit during the rut. I'm wearing a thing long sleeve only. Not the usual attire for a guy in northern Ontario. It's wayyy too hot. We will see what happens I guess. I'm in the tree tomorrow and Wednesday morning as well. Unfortunately it's the same wind and temps all week. Which I am not really set up well for. We don't normally see south winds this time of year. So if no luck maybe on Wednesday I'll try something crazy and set up somewhere different with a climber.
Yesterday over the course of the day, he saw a spike, fork horn, and young 8pt on his farm. And 7 does. This morning he did not see any deer. Good luck Chago. Lots of bucks hitting the ground in PA despite the heat. Unfortunately not by me lol.
Just had two does walk behind me. Really slow, browsing on shrubs. They didn't seem like they were in any hurry so I doubt any one is following. Let's see if a big boy is tracking them down.
Mature bucks are not moving during daylight where I hunt. I've got two 5 year olds hitting the same scrape. The Big 8 is the target but the Big 6 is going to be hard to pass. I've got pics of the Big 6 from 2013 as well.
Last day of work for me. Vacation from Thursday until the 27th. Been slow lately with the temps but I will be hitting it hard very soon.
