Anybody getting out this week? Today is bad for me but I hope to make it out a few evenings and a couple mornings. I dislike this week in PA because it's early muzzleloader season. I am heading to OH Friday-Sunday this weekend.
Won't be able to get out until this weekend. Fall break starts Friday so I have a few days in a row to hunt. Looking to fill both doe tags in PA
Havent gotten out in a couple weeks due to school and cow shows, but mainly due to the draw stop and screw that holds it somehow coming out of my bow. Hope to be back in the woods before long though. Finally have some decent bucks showing up but they look pretty young still. I hopefully will have some more mature bucks start showing up since rutting activity is picking up in the area.
That's awesome chago. I hope to be back at it Thursday activities really starting to pick up here in ohio
Chago, way to go man! You are having yourself a pretty good hunting season so far I'd say. I hope you had some help getting that monster out of the woods.
I shot him at 8:30am. The picture on the pole is not until 4:45pm. It's a small group, me and 3 guys. That was a **** load of work for 4 guys. I got a new Garmin gps/walkie talkie. Opening morning I wanted to test it out and just keep walking and get my self practically lost on purpose. So from 7am which was first light I took a few steps and stopped and continued until 8:30 when I literally walked up on a bull, cow and calf. We had bull and calf tags no cow tags. I shot the bull of course. But after I shot I thankfully gutted alone while I was waiting for the boys to come to the meeting point. I then walked back to them and met at my truck. There I took off my coat and some things I didn't need for the drag. Not realizing I left gps which had my track in my coat. So here I am leading off memory, were clearing a trail with chainsaw for the atv to come in. Working away I start to forget exactly where it was. It was well over 1.5 miles into the bush. So again thank god I gutted him because I could see the birds circling already. So I followed the birds. But ya the terrain was tough. The atv did a hell of a job but it needed a lot of help from us. This was a 1200lb animal at least. We were all so tired no one hunted the next day lol.
70 degrees here today. Quite the contrast from snow and 30's we had on Saturday. I am skipping the afternoon, I will try to get out in the morning.
I am having a hard time seeing myself getting in the woods until my Kansas trip in 2 weeks, but then I will have 8 days straight of rut hunting.
Looks like I might not get back until until OH this weekend. I was hoping to make it out this morning before the rain but that didn't happen. Tomorrow morning is a possibility but the afternoon is out while I get ready to be gone for the weekend.
Hunted Ohio yesterday, saw 2 smaller bucks. I thought I was getting a shot at a doe but it stayed 60 yards out. It is a washout today so I came back home. I need to buy some rain gear.
Sorry guys, October has been busy for me starting a new job and my weekends have been weddings all month. So I haven't had time to hunt at all. November will be better since I'll be settled in at work and no more weddings lol. I'm going to hunt hard next month and hopefully I can get something down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
