Congrats on the doe! Way to go! Glad she only went 30 yards, hopefully the next one I shoot will do that for me. I feel a little bit better now about not recovering my doe. Where I shot her its only 9 acres and I only had pictures of two does on my trail cam so I thought I had decreased the doe population in half. However, when I went out Thursday night, I had 5 does come within bow range right at dark. I guess I barely made a dent! I am inserting a picture of Cactus Rack. This is him out of velvet. My best friend is going after him in Ohio in a couple days. If he doesn't get a shot, he's backing out till I get there for the rut. Enjoy the picture...

It is extremely windy in NE OH today. I hate being up in a tree feeling like a flag so I am skipping it. I have all week I can get out, plus PA regular season opens Saturday. Tip, make sure we all keep shooting throughout the season. Gotta stay sharp so that moment of truth isn't wasted .

I will be back out in the woods Friday morning and that is probably all I will get to hunt this weekend. I have fall break from classes October 12 and 13 so I will get to hunt next Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday and hopefully a decent buck will make his fatal mistake for me. Just hope I have one like some of the ones yall have on camera at some point. Good luck to everyone else in the woods!
Weather looks really bad for our statewide opener. I have a lot of free time right now so depending on how bad it is I may wait until next week.

No luck in Ohio this past weekend but we weren't expecting much. Pa opens this weekend but they are forecasting a 100% chance of rain with a high of 58. We have a blind we are going to sit in that is next to bedding and is littered with acorns. Hoping to catch them coming back to bed. Good luck to everyone going out
Nothing to report this morning. I expected to see some more action considering the cold front that's blown in this morning. But nothing was moving. We had a really bright moon last night with super clear skies.

Well yesterday was good saw 3 does and then so far this morning I've seen 6 does and a buck hat I would've shot. I was just in he wrong spot everything was about 60 or so yards to the left. I spent 9 hours in stand on Thursday morning and evening. Had to work today. Tomorrow I was going to out in morning, but we're extent ridiculous wind tomorrow. Like 40mph so I'm not interested. Sunday isn't looking a whole lot better. I'll see what happens. If it doesn't settle I wont be a let o get back in their until Tuesday.
Went out tonight and saw 3 does nothing close enough to shoot tho. The 40 mph wind was horrible lol. I did get my first shooter on cam tho !
Nice buck! I woke up at 4:30 for the PA opener and the rain was really coming down hard and the wind was howling like crazy. I went back to bed. It's a long season in both PA an OH. With my bad back hunting in rain is more misery than fun so I decided to skip it. Looks like a break maybe this afternoon. If not the weather next week looks better.
No deer this morning for me. Saw 8 on the drive to the farm and a few I'm the stand. It rained all morning. Hopefully it let's up for the evening hunt
