FWIW - when you buy the Apache you're getting an all-metal rest that's rock solid. The comparible Trophy Taker is not only more expensive, but also has several plastic pieces on it. The Apache is a superior rest IMO. You won't be disappointed!

I'm in the minority here but I didn't like mine. It was very heavy compared to others and I thought it was noisy. I was also getting fletching contact with Blazer vanes. And yes, it was set up and timed properly. I traded it for a QAD and the QAD is by far a better rest! Very quiet and no fletching contact.

That's funny you mention that because I took my Apache off my new bow and put my Qad LD on it and I was getting fletch contact, so completely the opposite. However I was able to remedy this after a while, I am by no means putting down the Qad. I did put the Apache back on and sold the QAD with another bow setup because I liked the look of it on my Maxxis.

The whisker biscuit guys swear by their rests. Had on for a while, but it just wasn't for me (not trying to knock anyone its just my preference). Bought a QAD and there was no going back. All I will shoot is dropaways now.

I am trying right now to decide on a drop away for my new Z7 extreme. I am looking at the quad ultra and the apache. I been shooting a NAP 360 and liked it but the talk of the drop aways have me interested. My question is the apache seems large and heavier than the quad. Also the quad can be set to lock in the up position for hunting and drop on release. can the apache do that?

No but it doesn't need to. It is similar to the Trophy Taker where the arrow is contained inside of the housing of the rest and can move around a bit, but not fall out. When you draw the rest stands up. The one disadvantage of this rest vs the Qad is that you have to feed the arrow through the rest to some degree, whereas the Qad and Ripcord you can knock arrow on string then flip the rest up to contain the arrow.

    Apache Rest

Works great on my Mathews Switchback, also a convert from the WB. I still think the WB is the way to go in certain situations.:nana:

    Apache Rest

Also wanted to mention that loading an arrow in the WB is a lot easier than the
    Apache.

I must have gotten a bad one. I have nothing but problems with mine. The bolts stay tight but the rest part of the assembly vibrates out of the dovetail where the vertical adjustment is. The shop that put it on said he has had 3 with different problems come in most from improper set up and he has been able to fix them. I have contacted NAP but haven't heard anything back yet. I'm glad everyone is having such good luck with theirs and I love mine when it stays put but, an Apache won't be on my bow this fall though.

I'm debating on one of these or a Ripcord Code Red.

Frantic, mine kept dropping right off despite the tooless bolts being tight. It ended up that there is so much Loc-tight on the threads that it feels like you've tightened it but you really have not. I have to torque the hell out of it to get it to stay put.

PSE Shooter: I have the RipCord rest as well and I really like it. The QAD LD is similar but a little easier to raise the rest manually, but one thing I liked about the RipCord is that the containment bar above the rest is somewhat flexible so if you had to take an arrow out or put back in and your rest was already up you can still slip it in or out.

Well I talked to NAP about my problem and when I told them about the elevation moving they immediately just said we will send you a new one. So I got it thursday got it put on today am going to try and go out right at daylight to shoot. It's been so hot I haven't even tried to shoot but since I got the replacement rest I need to put it through its paces I guess.

This heat is killing me its been over 100 every day since the 9th of July With heat indexes usually topping out around 110-115 just ridiculous.

Thanks to Justin for getting me in touch with NAP. Love that I can be on a board where everyone helps people out the best they can other than just saying you must be doing something wrong like they do on most boards I have ever joined.

The Trophy Taker FC rest is a little quieter on the shot but the Apache is better in the way the cord raises the launcher.Much less wear on the cord. Both great rests for hunting

Same idea here, had a WB for years and when I started reading the reviews and price I just had to have one and I do not regret the decision. Very quiet.
