I pulled the trigger this past week on the NAP Apache drop away and all I can say is WOW!!! I have always had a whisker bisquit since I started hunting and I didn't have any major problems with it, except for a little noise, I just wanted a change though. I am glad I did make the switch. Like many have said, there are so many positives to this rest. Number 1, it is dead quiet. You cannot here anything on my bow now when it is being drawn back. Number 2, it sets up super easy. Just bolt it on and start adjusting, no tools needed. Number 3, price. Holy cow is this thing a deal compared to almost every other drop away. I paid a little over $60 and couldn't be happier. So far the rest is performing flawlessly on my Z7 and I am loving every minute I shoot with it. Great rest, great price. If your thinking about getting one just do it, you shouldn't be dissappointed one bit.
No noise, it is very quiet. I couldn't believe how loud the whisker bisquit actually was until I got this rest. It is VERY quiet.
They are tough as hell also... I was hanging in this year on Quantico when they let a blast go on the demo lot. Scared the crap out of me. I slipped and dropped my stand as I was hanging in, couldn't grab the line and watched it slam into my bow. Knocked everything out of whack, bent the enclosure a bit but even after all that, the rest still performs like it did.
I havent heard a bad thing about it yet!! I love mine, you can tell it is quality built and that is important!! Happy shooting.
I'll be checking out the Apache tomorrow at Cabela's. There is a good chance i'll be leaving with one !
I haven't used one or even seen one in person yet but, from the reviews I have read and because of what all the guys on here are saying, I will be buying one as soon as I can. It may be a month from now but, It will be my next archery purchase. From the sounds of it, it will probably be my best purchase so far. I am almost as excited about buying one as I am opening day.
Glad to see everyone is liking the Apache. I just broadhead tuned with it for the first time last night and the tool less adjustment is sweet!!!!
Apache Rest Just put my Apache on last week. Replaced my WB which I had no problems with. Parting is really hard but this caught my attention. Very quite and hooked up with some Tracer nocks from Easton that activates the nock when the arrow flys by the magnet. I am using a Mathews Switchback and when the shop put the rest on it maxed out on the right adjustment because of the arm that the string rollers are on. Has anyone had this problem with a Switchback and the Apache? Curious!
I have the QAD LD on one bow, the RipCord Red on another bow, so I decided to try the Apache on my 3rd bow. My cousin has this rest on his PSE Dream Season and he likes it so I thought I would give it a try. It is very quiet and very easy to set up. The only drawback to the tooless one I purchased was that the locktight makes you think you have tightened the adjustments sufficiently...now I give it a bit more elbow grease and it stays in place. I was shooting video archery with a friend and you only have 45 seconds between animals and of course I didn't tighten the rest enough so it fell off and was dangling by the pull cord (I think there was too much lock-tight on mine). Anyway I put it back on, lined up my arrow with the burger hole, tightened it more than before lol, and I was spot on again and only missed one shot. My absolute favorite thing about this rest is being able to ajust the cord tension with an allen key at the rest. I had my bow set up, shot for a while, then had my draw modules changed because my draw was too long. I totally forgot to have the shop re-do my Apache cord length. So when I went to go sight in my bow the night before spring bear hunting I realized it was not the correct length. So I just followed the YouTube video by loosening the allen bolt, pulling it fairly tight, supporting the rest in the up position, then drawing bow back while cord pulled through to right length, retightened allen bolt and voila! The other thing that took some getting used to was how to feed the arrow through the rest to nock the arrow, but no big deal. Definitely worth the cost savings over other rests!
I finally made it by the pro shop a couple days ago and they have them in stock. I will be taking the old bow up and having one installed in two weeks. I can't wait!! The tech said he use to use the Trophy Taker Smack Down which is similar. He said they quit carrying all Trophy Taker products and replaced them with NAP products due to the NAP was selling so well, no one bought Trophy Taker any more. He bought the NAP Apache and was sold the first time he shot it. To me that was more than enough to sale me (even though I had already made up my mind on it)
