I'm very pleased with these compact cameras. have great night time range and not bad on price. Haven't really had time to experiment with plot watcher yet but i have bought 4 of them now.

My wife got me one for Christmas and so far I've been pleased with it. I have noticed that the deer seem to be alot more aware of it's flash at night and the flash is so bright that I have to place it a little farther away from the subject than I normally would.

    Blessings.......Pastorjim

nothing bad to say, I left mine up this past week during the rain/snow and 18 degree temps. Still took great picks and functions beautifully

I have had some issues lately with mine. I can't always get it to turn on. That being said I like the camera overall. I'm considering getting another.

IR cameras still light the LED's mostly red so yes the deer will see them. Now black flash will not be seen :deer:

I absolutely love mine. It has been flawless. Hopefully it will hold up through this winter and the battery life will be sustainable.

The red that they give off is very faint. And deer can't see towards the Infrared end of the light spectrum so I don't think its the light that gets them. I believe its the noise of the shutter that gets them the most.

There shouldn't be ANY shutter noise. Who knows what deer can see ? ? I get plenty of pics of them staring at the LED's even more so when it's on 30 second videos. LED lights are bright and very noticeable. Just for the record I don't have a Moultrie and never will :sheep:

^^ This ^^ Yes I am a Moultrie hater from way back :bash:

But I have heard good things about the M80 but also have heard bad as with just about any camera (at least the ones under $600)

There shouldn't be any shutter noise, but there is. That's what makes a good camera, the less shutter noise. I think the M80 doesn't have much shutter noise, if any at all. I personally don't think they notice the light, from what Ive read they see red light as grey anyway so it wouldn't necessarily look like much. There has been research done on what deer can see, just search. There are people out there that know much more about how deer than you or I.

Liked my M80 for the 45 days it worked. Need to send it back. I have never owned a Moultrie that did not go bad within a year. That said they replaced them every time.
