All camo has become ridiculously expensive, and I truly believe 80%-90% of all camo on the market is no better than your fathers regular military camo. I swear I cannot get myself to buy camo pants that cost the industry standard, $40-$50. It is a major rip-off. I might go back to the traditional military basic camo and buy from some cheap army navy surplus store for 50% of what they are selling the standard camo outfits.
The UC blends in well when hunting in hardwood trees. Price is great and customer service is Top Notch.
Cabelas has a few items without SL this year. Revolution fleece I would be interested in, but if you read the reviews it has a noisy liner, which is a serious buzzkill. There is also a vertigo tan, which looks decent too.
I'll stick with the best open-concept pattern on the market... and the one that it appears the Vertigo is trying to approximate: Predator Fall Gray. Having said that, I REALLY like the Vertigo stuff... and it's the best option out there in the "mainstream" big-box store market segment.
That pattern looks a LOT like the cheap Fusion3D stuff I've bought at Wal-Mart.....(note I only say CHEAP because the cost was low, both outfits are still in good shape, and look as new, even after 3-4yrs of service.) Don't mind my "fanclub" but neither of these OLD does noticed I was hanging from a tree when I arrowed them, and there were 16 and 17 deer respectively in bow range when they were arrowed......Both were herd matriarchs, one aged 7.5yrs old the other was at LEAST 7.5 years old, both very savvy, both very dead.......
I'll stick with Fall Gray. I use UC for turkey, it works great. I dont use it for deer because as soon as you are silhouetted up in a tree, you stick out just like most other camo patterns.
I hear ya guys. I have lots of Fall Gray, and love it. The Vertigo is even more "open". Who knows, I may give it a shot sometime if I catch it on sale
Been using Fall Grey Predator, since I started hunting and have never even thought of using another camo, since I too have noticed the Vertigo. I notice someone say that the liner was noisy, through my reading unless my mind has slipped, I believe it said it was a fleece lining. Better have another look before I order it. The white background in the Vertigo will lose you in the skyline and the branches will blend you right into the tree and vice versa in the snow when it falls. I could care less if it's scent-loc,that's another story :p. Rocky
