Good read. Some of the cards those guys are testing cost as much as the DPS, kinda defeats the purpose of going with the DPS over Plot Watcher.

FWIW, there's a problem. Whether it's card voltage, battery meter problems, firmware or others, even if somehow I find a card that works (at who knows what price) these cameras will likely develop other problems. Again, I hope Primos learns and improves the unit for next year.

sorry i just got mine card changed out on the cam, so far i tested the cam at my house here with a 4 gb sandisk card and i liked how it worked so i put it out with new battery's in my field plot this time with a 16 gb sandisc i set the cam on 10 sec mode where it shuts down from 10-2 and left it out for two weeks pulled it sunday and i still am looking thru the pics. seems to work just like it was advertised.

Question for you guys ..did you read in the instructions to use only alkaline battery's ? not sure if it is a source of any problems but just asking. so far mine seems fine.

Yes, I used Energizer Max alkalines for two reasons: The instructions and I didn't want to spend nearly $20 to put in lithiums.
Per the thread on the other forum some have had voltage problems. If you read the link posted by leadoperator in post #21 there are a few wiz-kid types trying to figure out the DPS. I wish them luck but as far as I'm concerned I'm not willing to jump through hoops trying to make a camera work.
It seems a few people have had good luck, this is encouraging in the sense that maybe it's not a design or concept problem but possibly a firmware problem.

So far i've only ran ray o vacs in mine which seem to be holding up fine.

The test is still goin, DPS is still snapping pics every 5 seconds. It even ran all night, i just left a light on so i could get this test done faster. No lock ups yet with the 16gb adata sdhc class 6 card.

DPS is still taking pics, or should i say the red light is still flashing every 5 seconds as i don't want to interrupt it. I'll check it when the red light stops flashing.

Ok boys the sd card in the DPS finally filled up. Once again im using a 16gb Adata sdhc class 6 card. I started this test on the 15th at about 12:30 pm. The dps run all day until dark and took 8237 pics. On the 16th it took 17,028 pics because i left i light on during the night so the camera wouldn't shut off. On the 17th it took 16,423 pics, yeah i forgot and shut the light off for awhile. On the 18th it took 16071, once again i for got i was doing the test and shut the light off a couple times. On the 19th it took 17,123 pics. And today it took 7,965 pics before it filled. For a grand total of 82,842 snaps. That seems like alot for a 16gb card to hold, but for a 1.3mp camera who knows? From what i've seen and read their mp rating is always below what the camera truely puts out.

Now in theory its supposed to take 17,280 pics in 24hrs (if i did the math correctly) if set on a 5 second delay like mine was. On the days i actually left the light on for 24 hrs it was pretty close to that #. This camera performed good enough for me to put out in the field this weekend.

And NO! i didn't look through em all.

The # of pics was bothering me so i went over to another forum where they did a reveiw on this camera and as it turns out the # of pics that my unit took vs. theirs was actually low, we were both running 16gb cards.
