Very rarely, I don't like having to watch every video to see what's in it, takes too much time. The only time I will in the future is if I'm getting big buck on camera regularly, I've been thinking I may set up a second camera on video mode to get some video of him but have not done it yet.
I run all my cams on video mode, I just like the video clips of deer. You get a better look at them if it is a buck rather than pics. Just my preference. It does take more time to sort, but it's worth it to me.
I will run them on video on occasion. It is a bear to go through all the video clips though, so I usually only do it during the late season and even after the season. I usually set them up on scrapes. It's interesting to watch how they behave when they are totally at ease in the darkness of the night.
I run 75% of my cams on video. With video you can get a good look at the buck and love the audio. Just like being there!
I run hybrid capture mode. Its nice because I can get 60 second video clips and up to 5 photos of a deer at the same time. If you cant get a good look with this, I dont know what can.
I just started using video mode this year. I haven't really decided how much I like it but it sure does make it nice when trying to get a good look at a deer and a picture doesn't always cut it. Both have their applications and it depends on the location, over a food plot or other open area video is really convenient.
I get anywhere from 150-250 pictures per day (not all are deer pics but most) I would spend all my free time watching videos.
we take Videos on some of our mineral sites and have been pretty successful with not having too many blank videos. I've captured some really cool grunts and bleats from videos.
I will set out our cameras with better battery life up for video over mock scrapes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My new primos are soo good on batteries I'm not going to worry about it especially on a scrape Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Im running a plot watcher which is video and time lapse rolled into 1. One photo every 5 sec during daylight only. 10,000 to 13,000 pic per day. Luckily there is software so you can see the whole day in about 20 minutes. also it doesn't trigger with infrared just time so it can capture animals a couple hundred yds away. Granted you can't count pts. but you can see what they are, where they came from and where they go. Here's a deer we call hula hoop who walked right up to the plotwhatcher on a power line.
I don't only because it takes some time to go through them all. On occasion I will run them in video mode if I see something interesting but rarely.
I love the video mode on my Stealth Cams ... use it all the time! ... I'm afraid that I might miss something.. plus you can tell more about each buck video vs picture ... If I want still images .. I pause the video at the view I want .. then use sniping tool to screen shot and "capture" a picture
A lot of replies! That's awesome. I've been busy at work but had a chance to hop on the forums this morning. I go today to change my SD card. I've been checking my camera's every 1-2 weeks. I'm considering switching it to video mode. I put my camera on 1 min hi pics. It gives me a decent pattern and how long a deer stays there. Right now they're there for an average of 11 minutes doing there thing.
