*Didn't know where to put this thread. . Mods, if its in the wrong place, Please move it and I'm sorry for any trouble I caused.*

I've been having problems with my left ear. . I have a ringing noise and a static sound in my ear at all times.

I went to the ear doctor a couple weeks ago, and had to go back last Thursday for a hearing test. . . The Doc said I have a lot of hearing loss in both ears. . My left ear is worse and he said its damaged. . He told me that I needed to start wearing hearing protection ASAP, Or I wouldn't be able to hear anything in a couple years if I don't.

I've been looking at the Walker's Game Ears (muffs), and they have too many to choose from. . I've been looking at these from Walker's website.

    Alpha Muffs 360

    Price is $99.99 + tax.

Then I found the same ones at Amazon for $63.77 & free shipping!

Amazon.com: Alpha Quad w/ NXT Camo: Sports & Outdoors

Does anyone think those would be a good set of muffs ?

Or, Does anyone have any that you would recommend ?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

I had an older model pair, I believe they are the quad muffs. Not sure it that exact model is still made. I bought them after ONE time shooting a deer with a handgun and my ears rang for hours afterwards. They are decent nad get he job done. The biggest drawback is direction hearing. I'll hear something walking in the woods, but have no clue which way to look. Not sure if its the muffs or me. Cause I have had issues with that even without hte muffs, but not as bad.

The guy I turkey hunt with has a pair that we use to help hear distant gobbles on windy days. They seem to work, but he takes them off before shooting. I've never actually used them, but he takes them on every turkey hunt.

makes two of us brother working on F-16's has ruined my hearing and my left ear rings all the time. i have had game sneak up on me and its very embarrassing. i have been looking into getting a hearing aid while here in AK to stay sharp, because i am not on top of the food chain here and i have had bears come to camp to lick the cast iron skillet clean that my buddy never washes.

You should try the muffs! . . You wouldn't believe how better you could hear in ''both ears''! . . They have 9X Hearing Enhancement.

My plan is not to use these just for gun hunting for deer, use them so I can hear better while bow hunting and I'll use them small game hunting too!

My wife could hear bucks grunt over all the squirrels around, and I couldn't hear the bucks at all.

You being in AK you do need something to help you hear better! :)

I worked 10 years underground in the coalmines, and I guess that ruined my ears! . . Its really loud underground.

I figured you working on F-16's that they would give you muffs to protect your ears.

You would really like these, and Amazon is the cheapest place to buy them. . The price lowered a couple dollars since I ordered mine!

I have 20% loss in both ears from 16,000 registered ATA trapshooting rounds without earplugs.
