Interested if anyone uses the Badlands Monster Pack and what they think of it. I am looking to buy a new pack and this one really caught eye. Want a waist pack with harness system.
I had one for a season and for a fanny I liked it. However, I tend to layer up when in the woods and I tend to carry in extra layers to put on once I get into the stand therefore I went to a more traditional style pack.
I used a Monster for years before I decided to change to a full size daypack. Like a dummy, I sold the Monster and really regret it. For me personally, I don't carry a ton of equipment to the woods with me. Bino's, tree saw, scents, small bottle of scent killer, water bottle, a sandwich or two, grunt and can call, gloves, facemask, knife, rangefinder. Thats about it really. I then strap my heavier layers to the outside of the pack. The monster handled all of that and then some with ease. What I liked was that it was just large enough to carry exactly what I needed and maybe a touch more, not nothing else. I've found with my current pack, a TimberHawk Rutbuster, its too big and half the pack is empty, leaving me rooting around in the various pockets trying to find what I need. It's a great pack, just too big for daily stand hunts for me. I am thinking hard about buying a new Monster honestly. And, you absolutely can not beat that warranty on those things!
I have the pack from badlands that also will hold a bow or a rifle. Its came in very handy chasing pigs down here in fort benning. Dont know how much i will really use it back home with a climber hunting whitetails. usually i just use a fanny pack since i already have a climber on my back. and the one your wanting to buy is the one ive been looking at also.
