Just curious, and trying to get my mind off missing dog...if anyone here still or ever did get into gaming. I'm still rocking the old PS3, favorite games are Skyrim and Farming Simulator 2013 (new to console). I think it would be awesome if they took the farm simulator a step or three further into more diverse crops, food plots or better yet a full on food plot/hunting simulator. All the hunting games I've tried suck, lol.
I don't have a PS3 but after seeing the farming simulator, made me want one. Is it fun or realistic as it looks online?
No I am ignorant to the game era. My boy is crazy good and knowledge, I feed his recreational time..with limits. The new things just astound me. I stopped at Nintendo and super Mario brothers. HaHaHahahaha!!
I just got mine two days ago, I had the PC version before of both 2013 and 2011 but those versions would lag on my PC once I got into a lot of money and equipment...I hope the console version doesn't do the same but they have made changes to it I think to prevent that problem. Yes, it is pretty realistic though it's as frustrating trying to make enough profit to buy better equipment, so year that's also a realistic feature, lol. I think it's a pretty neat game, coming from a guy who has had everything from Nintendo (original) to a PS3 and hundreds of games...I'd say it's a pretty decent endorsement....of course I like agriculture too so I'm biased, lol. FarmSim has some problems I don't care for, the grain system is wonky...speaking as an American farmer as it's not exactly bushels and dollars per bushel not sure what the system is actually, maybe weight and price per bushel? No combine holds 4500 bushel though, lol.
This winter I have found myself having a few beers with buddies playing Mario kart on super Nintendo and N64! I would take those consoles over the new ones any day!
I'm all about AG too so that is why I was curious. I have John Deere American farmer and Simfarm on PC and my girlfriend thought I was crazy when I downloaded the free trial of John Deere Drive Green and was glued to the computer. You should have seen the look she gave me when I told her I wanted to buy a PS3 simply for the fact that I wanted farm simulator game!
You know I feel that video games have gone a lot the same way as movies where focus went from good content and storyline to focused on special effects and bling. I've found very few games for the PS3 that were comparable in overall quality to most of the PS1 games to be honest. Sure the graphics are better and the animations

Atari Stampede Pitfall Pac-Man Space Invaders Now it is Kill everything in desolate environments Rob, steal, explode... Some of the games are cool though and the graphics are insane. I try to keep my boy in games but our choices in content sometimes vary. He does fine and knows what will fly under my roof. I usually give him some rope based on his actions and line of thinking. After all it is a modern world and experience is the best teacher. I still can't figure some of these games out, I will watch his for a bit, get dizzy and go shoot my bow...HaHaHahaha!!!
I'm 25 and still play Xbox 360 a lot after work during the winter. I play everything... Call of duty, halo, MLB, Madden, skyrim was one of my favorites. Back in 2007 I actually traveled to Chicago and played Halo 2 competitively (MLG - Major League Gaming). Still waiting for a great deer hunting game to come out for the console though. I still have a PS2. Dont play it much, mostly because I work 14 hour days lol. Would like to have more games for it though. Been even thinking of grabbing a PS3 since they will be cheaper now
