What little I've read on it, makes me think I'd like it. Not sure I actually want to spend the cake on one, but I'd like to hear any first hand info I can on it.
just ordered mine today smooth light and fast, its going to be my first high end bow. i shot every make and model out there before i chose this one.
I figured a lot of guys would be shooting one. I guess everyone is into the solo cam Mathew's? Thanks for the feed back, BigRob.
i shot one an had one on order an then the limb pocket issue hit an it put them behind shipping out bows for a little bit. i thought it was a good bow an was looking forward to geting it but then i shot the prime impact an it was over an done i called and canceled the chill. i think the chill is the best bow mathews has out an if people out there don't shoot it just because of the name they are missing out.
I really like the feel of the Chill. It came in a very close second to the Creed I just ordered. I shot the Monster when it first came out but didn't like it at all. Felt too much like a speed bow to me. That's why I was so surprised that I liked the Chill so much.
I'm going to have to hunt down one I can shoot. I'm curious as to how it compares to the Rampage XT I have. The draw, the valley, the wall?
I have shot both them bows an the back wall is very similar just a little on the spongey side but not bad the chill in my opinion has the better draw an valley. The chill is a smooth consistent draw that builds up evenly through out the draw an has a nice entrance into the valley and the leftoff is a touch better on the chill you have a little room to relax before the cams feel like they want to take off.
Thank you. I've been told that from someone who shot one, but, the name Mathew's tends to make people love the bow on the name sometimes.
I recently looking for the creed and my buddy handed me the chill to shoot and I instantly loved it. Just bought it last week! Fast, smooth, and doesn't weight anything either. Def worth looking into.
I've had my Chill for a few weeks now and the more I shoot it, the more I like it. The draw is smooth and while the back wall isn't rock solid, I think the bow makes up for it on the feel of the shot. It's literally dead in your hand. No noise, no jump, no vibration. Shooting it back to back with my Helim and it's a night and day difference with the Chill winning hands down. One thing I'll say is that the Chill seems a little more sensitive to any flaws in your form or follow through. If I'm not careful my groups will start to open up a little bit, but as soon as I slow down and take a little more time on the shot they tighten back up. Not entirely sure if it's all the bow, all me, or a combination of both. With all that said as of right now it's probably my favorite bow I've ever owned.
That's high praise considering you have shot more than a few very nice bows. Will you be hunting with it on BHOD at all? I see a lot of Mathew's bows on the hunting shows, but never any dual cam bows. Now I really want to try one. lol
I'll be anxiously awaiting the delivery of my chill shortly then I'll let u know what I think. I have the helim now and I'll be whacking turkeys in a month in half. Tyler Rector BHOD
Yep - I'll be hunting with it this fall. I'd say about 1/2 of our pro staff members will be shooting the Chill this year, and the other half the Creed.
ive had mine for about two weeks and like you said Justin im falling more and more in love with it every time I shoot it. season opens up here in Bama on Tuesday so we'll see how she does
Bottom line is no matter what you read here you have to shoot it yourself. I worked at a shop for a little bit last year and shot the creed and chill side by side. I personally didnt like the chill, and we werent getting many orders on it at the shop either. But some people love it, its all preference. Basically mathews made a slower more forgiving dual cam bow instead of going with the monsters speed demon past. To me, if i want a speed bow its going to be fast as hell, but if i want smooth and forgiving im going solocam all the way.
Was just going to post and ask this question, to see if anyone had compared them side by side. These are the two I am looking at, and still plan to try both out.
Everyone has different objectives and shooting styles, I am extremely happy with my "teacher". The MR5.
I shot both the creed and the chill and I prefer the draw of the Creed all day long compared to the Chill. Both at 62# and man what a difference.
