I tried it for a couple of years but it's hard to get as consistant groups. Also if you have to change your angle or position while shooting at a deer your shot changes even if your pin looks like it's on. Maybe it was just me but I shot a deer in the hine quarter when my pin was behing the front shoulder cause I didnt get the kisser in the corner of my mouth :( Right after that I switched back to a peep. I liked the field of view but thats the only advantage I can think of.

I haven't shot with a peep for about 6-7 years...I use a Rifle Sight Peep Eliminator. My main reasons for shooting with the rifle sight, and no peep...is shooting in low light, and I think I'm more consistent with it. (It promotes perfect form)

I tried to shoot peep less I couldn't get consistent, I use a g5 meta peep it's only 6.5 grains and if you have prestretched strings you wont have problems with it rotating, or at least I haven't.

I shot without a peep for 20 years when I shot fingers. When I changed over to a release my anchor point etc... was different. I would shoot great until I got in a treee stand and then I would miss a few inches right almost everytime. I finally did some experimenting and found I needed a peep from a stand with a release because my eye positioning was no longer directly or nearly directly behind the string as it was when I shot fingers.

I shot a couple years without a peep years ago. I used a peep eliminator product called the Timberline No-peep. It worked great and actually tightened my groups up, especially at longer distances.

For some reason, I just never went back to it....
