Yes, speed does sell, but in my opinion it is highly over-rated. I still shoot a Heli-m and a Drenalin, but if I did have a bow that was rated at 350-350 fps IBO, I'd build my arrows heavy with a high FOC to shoot between 275 - 300 fps to get what I feel would be the ideal setup. If they came out with a bow that shot 400 fps, I'd shoot an even heavier arrow with a high FOC and still shoot what most would consider slow in order to keep that momentum in the upper range. I might need a small shovel to get my arrow out of the dirt, but I'd be assured of being able to blow through any animal I was hunting even if I did hit bone. As to the bow this thread addressed, I have to agree with the point you made about the peep being so far from your eye. That would be a problem unless you added something like a Hindsight that eliminated the peep altogether.
I shoot a speed bow but use the energy to move a heavier arrow 475 grains, it makes for a quiet efficient bow.
I frequently backpack my climber in around a mile. Having a small Bow would be great walking through the woods and for sitting in the tree. But the peep and price would keep me away from it. That being said I'd be super interested to shoot one. What's it going to hurt shooting it and trying it out? You only loose by disqualifying something before giving it a fair chance. I don't need to kiss a guy to know it's not for me, just like shooting that bow, not for me. If another wants to that is just fine by me, go ahead be true to yourself.
