Apparently they used a drug sniffing dog....took the dog like 19 seconds to find the normal smelly hunter in a box...then used all the scent hiding stuff...took the dog....wait on it.......19 seconds ? Makes ya say "hmmmmmm" Wonder if the guy had drugs on him ? If he didn't we waste lots of cash. SB
I don't use the stuff, but if drug sniffing dog season ever gets passed, I'll be sure not to waste my time buying it. In a related story, the steel drum season bill didn't pass again. Guess I'll just have to use my broadheads for deer again this season. Damn it.
Any scent control product is all about the $ If your pores are open, and your breathing....your releasng scent. Simple as that. No matter what your wearing/chewing/washing in.
Anyone who every thought it completely eliminated or contained scent was crazy. Its like any of the sprays some people buy. You can't ever eliminate but you may just reduce it enough to get by with things you otherwise couldn't have. And gettign by with something once may be all it takes! That said, I always step in a few of these on my way into my stands, great cover up right here. Deer just wonder how a cow sh!t in a tree.
I do believe scent blocker or the other brands are just a name, and a gimmick, but i wear them because they are well made. and another thing is, i think drug sniffing dogs probably have a better nose than deer, and the dog is looking for the human, the dog has been trained all its life to only smell for drugs or humans. deer are just living their life, and if they happen to get an "odd" wiff of something they are going to be scared, they dont go through the woods searching for human scent.
i remember seeing something about hiding drugs from dogs, and they said to put it in hamburger or meat, not because the dog cant smell it but because the cop will think the dog is just going for the meat and forget about it. i bet if we were to sit in a pile of corn or acorns, that covers us completely a deer would eat it right off of a human.
